The European forest-based industries (F-BI) are a first-class employer, environmentally innovative businesses, top-quality performance industries and providers of many opportunities for future generations offering high-tech professional possibilities.

The aim is to inform young people and teachers alike of the possibilities these forest-based industry sectors have to offer, and to create an awareness of important issues and products.

Representatives from these industries along with the European Commission's DG Enterprise form the F-BI Working Group on Communications. This group will co-ordinate a project to promote youth-related activities across Europe in order to enhance awareness and recruitment knowledge of the industry sectors among young people.
